Sculptural sketches


These pieces have been inspired by human emotions, some taking the form of portraits using my chosen medium of forged iron, mounted against canvas to make unique pictures, with a third dimension from the depth and shadow effects not normally attainable with conventional media.


The three large sculptures are ‘sketches in the air’, inspired by Henri Matisse’s sketches and the pop-art ‘Brushstrokes’ sculptures by Roy Lichtenstein. These reflect on the creative impulse.
